Cyprus tonnage tax, yacht finance, EU regulations, provisional, permanent or bareboat charter registration, parallel-in, parallel-out, ship ownership, tax planning, VAT leasing.

The aim of our shipping department is to attend to the needs of ship owners, ship operators and other professionals engaged in shipping and related business.

Whilst first and foremost, we tend to the registration of shipping companies, our shipping team has vast experience in ship and yacht registration and parallel registrations of such under the Cyprus system and in a timely manner.

Yacht registration is also key, whereas our team is able to assist with its registration and advice on how to enjoy the very attractive VAT leasing scheme that Cyprus offers for yacht, mega-yacht and sailing boat owners which has been renewed for a further 10 years as of October 2019.

We can advise on a variety of shipping related matters, particularly:

  • Chartering (bareboat, time & voyage)
  • Tax planning and structuring of ship owners via the Cyprus Tonnage tax system and various qualifications
  • Tax planning and structuring on sale or purchase of mega yachts.
  • Transfer of ownership / name
  • Change of name
  • Drafting and negotiation of ship management agreements and other related contracts
  • Recording, transfer and discharge of mortgage
  • Issuance of STCW endorsement
  • Payroll management and employment matters (i.e officers and crew)
