Maria Theocharous, Senior Associate of E & G Economides LLC, served as moderator at the seminar “Maritime Zones: Jurisdiction and Delimitation,” held on 19 June 2025 at the Press and Information Office in Nicosia.
The event was organised by the Legal Service Academy and the International and European Law Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association. It focused on the jurisdiction of coastal states and the delimitation of maritime zones under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and customary international law.
The main presentation was delivered by Maria Pilikou, Senior Counsel of the Republic in the International Law Section of the Legal Service. Opening remarks were given by Dr. Despina Kyprianou, Counsel of the Republic and Head of the Academy, and Nikolas Konstantinides, President of the Kyrenia Bar Association.
