Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa Scheme: Applications Now Open

The Cyprus Migration Department is once again accepting applications for residence permits under the "Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa" scheme, as detailed in a recent announcement from the Ministry of Interior. This program enables non-EU and non-EEA nationals to live and work remotely in Cyprus, leveraging the island's advanced digital infrastructure.

Key Features of the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa:

  • Availability: The maximum number of permits is capped at 500.
  • Eligibility: Non-EU/EEA nationals who can perform their work remotely through telecommunications technology.
  • Employment Requirement: Applicants must be employed by a company registered outside of Cyprus or be self-employed with clients located internationally.
  • Income Requirement: Applicants need to demonstrate a stable and sufficient monthly net income of at least €3500/monthly after deductions.

Benefits of the Digital Nomad Visa:

  • Duration of Stay: Grants a right of residence for one year, renewable for up to two additional years.
  • Family Member Inclusion: Family members can also reside in Cyprus for the same period without the right to employment or economic activity.
  • Tax Residency: Eligibility for tax residency under Cypriot law, provided no other country considers them as tax residents and they stay in Cyprus for more than 183 days in a tax year.
